Sent to Omaha Beach, Normandy in July 1944. Combat duty in France. Wounded 9/8/1944 in France. Combat duty in Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany. Wounded second time in Germany 3/21/1945. Spent 9 months on the front lines. A Forward Observer 81mm Platoon. Received two Purple Hearts.
