Activity During WWII

387th Regiment, part of the 97th Division, Company E. Foreign service 10 months. Ground combat in Germany April 1, 1945 combat, Ruhr Pocket Elimination with 9th Panzer Division in Rhineland. Processed out at Camp Old Gold, France June 1945. September 1945 left for Yokohama, Japan for occupation. An expert carbine rifleman and light machine gunner. Was the most travelled infantry division in the Army 30,000 miles and the only fighting European division sent to Japan.
