Served in the 104th Infantry Division, 3rd Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 6th Headquarters, Anti-Tank Crew 1; 57mm Gunner. Served in Europe; England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Wounded when truck he was in ran over an anti-tank mine in Saalburg, Germany, November 19, 1942. Hospitalized in England until his discharge May 10, 1947. Received Two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
