Activity During WWII

Served as staff sergeant and tail gunner in B-24 aircraft June 1943 to August 1944 in the Pacific Theater. Flew 51 missions. Shot down six Zeros and was wounded in action. Received the Purple Heart, numerous air medals and the Presidential Unit Citation. Received commendations from squadron and group commanders for getting the only pictures of vital mission against Japanese forces over Truk, April 2, 1944.
