Inducted 1941. Served 1 year in Cape Cod before being shipped overseas. Served in the Pacific Theater, January, 1942, as part of new Americal division. April 1942 on New Caledonia then shipped to Solomon Islands. Took part in Guadalcanal campaign and was wounded November 1942. Recovered in Fiji 1943 and transferred to the 37th Division Quartermaster on Fiji and back to canal in 1944. Transferred home June 1944 and discharged August 15, 1945.
