Activity During WWII

Was a commercial pilot and flight instructor before the war. Joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve via the Clayton Knight Committee. Completed spitfire operational training and was transferred to U.S. forces November 1942 in London. Joined the 2nd Squadron, 52nd Fighter Group in Africa, flying Spitfires, April 1943. Flew 91 combat missions in Africa, Sicily and Corsica. Separated from the service September 16, 1945 at Fort McPherson, Atlanta.
