Enlisted August 18, 1944. Served in the 101st Airborne Parachute Infantry. Arrived in Europe after the Battle of Bastogne (January 14, 1945). European-African-Middle Eastern Medal, 2 Bronze Stars -- Rhineland and Central Europe; Good Conduct Medal. Was mortar gunner and rifle sharpshooter. Discharged November 9, 1945. Re-enlisted November 10, 1945 -- served at Governor's Island, New York.
