Served in England with the 385th Bomb Group, 551st Bomb Squad, as a flight maintenance gunner. Shot down after flying 200 missions over Germany on 11/2/44, his 20th birthday. On 11/6/44 he was captured and became a POW. Liberated in May, 1945.
