Enlisted as a private, the day after receiving college degree, in January 1942. Went up in rank until commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, after training in Officer Candidate School in Aberdeen, Maryland. Served in the States, New Guinea, Philippines and Manila. Honorably discharged on January 29, 1946.
