7th division, 17th Infantry Regiment. Inducted 10/9/41 from Chicago, Illinois; Medical discharge on 8/8/46 from Fort Logan, Colorado with 93 points; 46 months active duty. 4/24/43 sent to Attu in the Aleutian Group and engaged the enemy; Went to Adak then to Kiska and then to Oahu. 10/20/43 squad leader of heavy machine gun squad of initial invasion force on Leyte, Philippines. Wounded in Okinawa. Received Bronze Star Medal and Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal and Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal and Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon issued by the Philippine Government, Gold Discharge Button.
