Tail Gunner and Radioman on a PBJ-1D, B-25 Aircraft. Killed when returning from a night bombing mission in the Solomon Islands. His plane, damaged by enemy fire and attempting to land during a heavy rain squall, overshot the airfield and crashed into a lagoon, one mile off shore of Green Island.
