Activity During WWII

Very active in the American Legion Auxiliary as President of both the local Springfield Unit Number 32 and the Sangamon County organization. Organized group meetings for various Women's Army Corps (WAC) and WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) recruiters who came to town in 1942. In 1943 recruited into the Woman's Army Corps (WAC) October 16, 1943 to February 17, 1945.
