OCTOBER 1943 WENT OVERSEAS. ASSIGNED TO RED BULL DIVISION, 133RD INFANTRY REGIMENT, GENERAL MARK CLARK'S 5TH ARMY. WOUNDED JANUARY 31, 1944. RECEIVED PURPLE HEART. RETURNED TO ACTIVE DUTY AFTER A SHORT RECOVERY. KILLED IN ACTION SEPTEMBER 18, 1944 ITALY.
