Inducted at New Orleans Induction Center in July 1943. Was discharged at Drew Field, Florida in November 1945; approximately 2 years, 6 months. Camp Beauregard, instructing soldiers. The latter part of his Army duty was spent attached to the Army unit at the Orlando, Florida Air Base. Was in the U.S. Bureau of Entomology unit in Orlando. Produced treatment to prevent infection of soldiers in all regions of the deadly disease. Honorably discharged. Received Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter, U.S. Army Ribbon.
