Served in the United States Army Medical Corps from 1942 to 1945. June of 1943, shipped out of San Francisco to serve in the South Pacific. Assigned to a Medical Detachment for an Artillery Battalion for two years. Assigned to the 99th Evacuation Hospital in the Philippines and Japan until September 1945. Returned to the U.S. Arriving Seattle in November 1945 after celebrating Thanksgiving abroad ship. Discharged in December 1945.
