Served as Radioman on several convoy flagships in the Pacific. At the Anguar, Peleliu and Ulithi amphibious landings September 15 to 17, 1944 onboard the USS Barnstable APA-93 under Rear Admiral Blandy. Participated in the Amphibious landing at Leyte Gulf on October 20, 1944 as part of Combat Aircraft Service Unit 4 with Captain Whitehead, under Admiral Kincaid onboard USS Wasatch AGC-9. Served with Captain Whitehead, under Admiral Kincaid, during the Amphibious landings at Lingayen Gulf on January 9, 1945 onboard USS Blue Ridge AGC-2. February 15 to April 11, 1945 with Combat Aircraft Service Unit under Admiral Struble, onboard U.S. Coast Guard Ingham WAGC-35, who commanded the landings on Corregidor Island, Panay, Negros and Cebu. Discharged in St. Louis, Missouri on March 20, 1946.
