Entered in Fort Huachuca, Arizona in July 1944. After 3 months, sent to Florence, Arizona for 7-1/2 months to care for German prisoners. Returned to Huachuca for a few months; upgraded to 1st Lieutenant and then sent to Camp Beale, California.
