Aerial gunner and bombardier. Fleet Air Wing 7, Patrol Bomber Squadron 107, Anti-Submarine Warfare, European Theater of Operations. The squadron, first as Patrol Squadron 83 and later as Patrol Bomber Squadron 107, sank nine German submarines, had two probable sinkings and damaged 16 other submarines in the Atlantic; more than all of the other squadrons in the European Theater of Operations put together.
