Landed Omaha Beach, participated in all major campaigns in Europe. After landing on Omaha Beach, proceeded on to France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. Second Armored had token occupation of the American sector of Berlin after the war was over. Received Silver Star for bravery in the Ardennes, Belgium; Bronze Star for personal bravery in combat; Purple Heart for injuries received (blown from tank in Germany).
