Activity During WWII

Served from 1942 to 1945. Assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Public Health Service; indoctrination at Hoffman's Island, New York. In April 1943, he volunteered for sea duty and was sent to Boston in May 1943 and assigned to USCGC Modoc. In March 1944, he was transferred to Coast Guard Hospital at Westhampton Beach, New York. While there, he took one convoy trip to Key West, Florida on USS Argo and transferred at sea to two different firefighters in the convoy to attend a sick seaman. Discharged in December 1945.
