Activity During WWII

Joined the Arkansas National Guard on August 15, 1939. He was called to Active Duty on January 6, 1941 and stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Later he received his 2nd Lieutenant's Commission and Navigator's Wings after being transferred to the Army Air Corps. He served with the 320th Bomb Group and flew with the B-26 aircraft. He served in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Puerto Rico, Georgetown, Guyana, Belem, Brazil; Ascension Island, Accra and Ghana.
