Trained at Fort Bragg, North Carolina with the 370th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Division, Camp Blanding, Florida and Indiantown, Pennsylvania. Served in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy invasion. Also, the Battle of the Bulge. Took five different landing craft into the beach on D-Day. Awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with eight stars, the Good Conduct Ribbon, the American Defense Service Medal and the Bronze Star. Was discharged on October 1, 1945.
