Opened home to provide servicemen who asked for housing at the United Service Organizations (USO) when on pass. Prepared hot breakfast, full meal. Gave rooms to wives who came from far away places sometimes to visit husband in camps near Richmond. Sometimes kids were sick and she took care of them so the wives could rest.
