Activity During WWII

Enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1942. Graduated from Iowa State in 1943. Entered service at Western Union College. Transferred to a military training base in Melville, Rhode Island for further training. Commissioned as an Ensign on October 28, 1943. Left February 1, 1944 to serve in the Pacific. Fatally wounded on New Britain Island on March 27, 1944 when Japanese planes sank the PT Boat he was on.
