Battles and Campaigns: Hollandia, Dutch New Guinea, Leyte, Philippine Islands. Continental Service, 5 months and 21 days; Foreign Service 3 years, 1 month and 25 days. Wounds received in action: bullet wound to the head and right elbow on December 15, 1944. Decorations and citations: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Lapel button. Honorable discharge on April 26, 1945.
