Served in the 529th Signal Operation Company from March 18, 1944 to April 14, 1946. Was present at the landing on Okinawa on Easter Sunday. Promoted to Staff Sergeant while on Okinawa. Message Center Chief in charge of communications, setting up most of the communication network connecting the Tenth Army Headquarters with the front line and its supply bases.
