On January 8,1945 while travelling in convoy, Signalman 2nd Class Connolly had noticed on the DD ahead of his ship that a man went overboard, if not for his devotion to duty and efficiency, Signalman 2nd Class Connolly was greatly responsible to this man's rescue.
