Activity During WWII

Following flight training in Visalia and Stockton, California he received his wings and Second lieutenant commission. His entire class was retained as Flight Instructors and given advanced training for that assignment in Sacramento. For two years he instructed Basic Training at Chico, California in BT-13 and AT-6 aircraft. He was then transferred to Douglas, Arizona where he spent the duration of the war instructing Chinese Nationals, most of whom spoke little or no English to fly our B-25 Bomber. He amassed 4,300 hours of flight time and was promoted to Captain during his service.
