Firing of 20mm and 16 inch guns on the USS New Jersey BB-62. Encountered Japanese gun boat off the coast of Truk Island that fired torpedoes at ship, the captain turned the ship, went between them and they spent two days shooting down Japanese planes. In the largest air raid ever, over 100 planes were shot by U.S. Pilot and ships.
