Served with the Military Police as an Escort Guard. He guarded prisoners during the Battle of the Bulge in France, escorted the prisoners from Europe to the U.S. He was also a refrigeration, air conditioning engineer in the British West Indies. He served with the 36th Division, 132nd Field Artillery Battalion in Antigua and Puerto Rico, guarding against anti-submarine activity.
