Activity During WWII

He volunteered for WWII on January 6, 1941 to January 31, 1946. He was a B-29 airplane commander and pilot; 17 bombing missions in Guam. Received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a private when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Volunteered for flying school and graduated on October 9, 1942 at Moody Field, Georgia.
