Active duty November 29, 1943, basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, 87th Division, Company A, 345th Regiment. Went overseas on October 17, 1944, transferred to 345th Headquarters in England. France, November 1944, Metz, Sear Valley, Battle of the Bulge, Germany. Left France on July 5, 1945 and arrived in U.S. on July 11, 1945. Reassigned to 95th Division, Company A.
