Activity During WWII

Served aboard the USS Telfair APA-210. Participated in the invasion of Okinawa. Shot down 4 Japanese airplanes, one of which hit his ship. Spent 3 days taking the wounded off the island of Ie Shima. Only landing craft at the time at that site.
