Served in the 7th Field Artillery, Battery A as a Forward Observer Field Lineman. Served at Normandy, Rhineland. Wounded at Metz, France on September 14, 1944. Awarded Purple Heart and certificate of 50 percent disabled. Was hospitalized at Crile Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio from November 1944 to February 4, 1946. Discharged in Albany, New York on February 7, 1946.
