Activity During WWII

Served in the 15th Air Force, 340th Bomb Squadron, 97th Bomb Group stationed in Bari, Italy. He was also a prisoner of war in Germany around Stettin in Stalag Luft 3 near the baltic sea. He was shot down and captured in Hungary while flying in a B-17. Walked 700 miles over Europe in a Death march from Stettin, Germany to Belgium without any food sleeping in open fields and barns.
