Activity During WWII

In the Oklahoma National Guard from 1932 to 1936. Joined the Navy at Clinton, Oklahoma in the early 1940's; boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois and graduated Fireman 3rd Class. Attended Naval School at Dearborn, Michigan and Amphibious Training School at Norfolk, Virginia. Numerous crossing of the Atlantic and was with a special group making amphibious landings of troops in Europe. He went to the Clyde of Scotland and was later assigned to Dartmouth, England and the Royal Naval College. He was with the unit Foxy 29-E68. Following his discharge in 1945 from the Navy, he enlisted in the Army and remained until he retired with 20 years time at the rank of 1st Sergeant (E8). Served in the Korean War.
