In the Army, Company H, 121st Infantry, 8th Division. Entered service on November 5, 1943. To Normandy, France on July 12, 1944 and injured near Saint Lo on July 26, 1944. Three-man machine gun squad, ammunition bearer. Discharged home on March 22, 1946 from the Crile General Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He received the Efficiency Honor Fidelity, WWII Victory Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman, 2 Battle Stars, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign.
