Enlisted July 1942. Received basic training in Idaho and special schools in Oklahoma and Illinois. Stationed in Newfoundland with PBY-5 patrolling for enemy submarines. Also served in England and Wales. Stationed 19 months on coast out from Exeter, England on Channel out from where invasion took place. Participated in patrolling the North Sea and Bay of Biscayne. Other stations of duty include Florida, Virginia and California. Discharged November 1945 San Pedro, California.
