Activity During WWII

The 4th Army Infantry, with Detachment 806th Replacement Battalion at Camp Bowie, Texas. Completed 13 cycles of Basic Training instruction, as a drill instructor on the rifle range using British-made .30-caliber Enfield rifles, American-made Springfield model 1903 .30-caliber bolt action rifle, and the M-1 Model Garand rifle, which became the standard Infantry weapon. Did a tour of duty with the 24th Replacement Depot at Caserta, Italy which was the site of the Allied Headquarters. Also was stationed south of Rome at a cavalry post of Mussolini's. Gave re-conversion training to troops that were not Infantry.
