Inducted on July 29, 1941 at Camp Wheeler, Georgia; Fort Dix, New Jersey and Fort DuPont, Delaware. Trip across the Atlantic on the SS Monterey, landed at Casablanca, Africa in January 1943 as Military Policeman. Sent to the Invasion of Salerno, Italy as an Infantryman. Wounded twice in Southern France, sent to Germany and Linz, Austria in 1945. Received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, 3 Bronze Battles Stars and oak leaf cluster. Discharged on November 10, 1945.
