Activity During WWII

March 4, 1943 accepted appointment as Ensign U.S. Naval Reserve. Detached to Naval Training School, Dartmouth University. Further assigned on April 29, 1943 to training at Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Appointed Lieutenant Junior Grade May 1, 1943 and assigned. Ordered detached U.S. Naval Advanced Base at Noumea to landing craft repair unit Number 1. January 7, 1944 he was assigned to service force, Pacific Fleet duty. Killed on November 10, 1944 in an explosion on the USS Mindanao ARG-3. Received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Defense Service Medal.
