Served in a Tank Battalion. Landed on Omaha Beach, D-Day plus 13. Active Duty through August 1944 when he returned, wounded, to a hospital in England. Returned to active duty in December 1944 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Wounded at Sterpigny, Belgium, January 1945. Awarded the Purple Heart with 2 Clusters, Bronze Star and Silver Star. Returned to the U.S. November 1945.
