Landed at Normandy, D-Day +10, fought in the Battle of Bulge and continued advance. His unit had been rotated back for needed rest when word came back that the replacements were being driven back; volunteers were requested. He returned to front and was killed when his vehicle took a direct hit on February 27, 1945.
