Participated in the Cassino-Lira Valley Campaign, the Breakthrough of the Hitler and Gustav Lines, the Rome-Arno Drive, the Gothic Line, North Apennines Campaign, and the Breakthrough into Po Valley. Assisted his unit in winning the Croix de Guerre Battle Streamer for gallantry. Many of his missions were carried out under direct observation of his enemy and subject to intense enemy fire.
