Awarded the WWII Victory medal, American Defense Service ribbon, Good Conduct medal, Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman badge, European-African-Middle Eastern ribbon with 4 battle stars. Served with the scout platoon as a Jeep driver, communication section, switchboard in Headquarters Company. Served in North Africa, landed Algeria, November 8, 1942. Survivor of Faid Pass, February 14, 1943, Italy. First crossing of the Volturno River, Cassino, Rome, Bologna. Reassigned to 166th Infantry Battalion, Oklahoma.
