Served as a Rifleman for 25 months with Company K, 110th Infantry Regiment. He spent 9 months overseas as a POW, captured near St. Lo France. As a Rifleman he fired upon enemy positions and installations inflicting a maximum amount of damage. He served in Battles and Campaigns at Normandy, North France and Central Europe.
