Sent to Kelly Field in San Antonio, Texas for his Basic Training. He was in the 23rd Fighter Bomber Group then in the 36th Fighter Bomber Group and was stationed at William Field in Chandler, Arizona. Sent to the European Theater and saw combat in Germany. Served in the Aircraft Maintenance Support Group. Received the following medals; Good Conduct Medal with one silver lapel pin, Occupational Medal with two lapel pins, Air Force Longevity Service Award with five oak leaf clusters, 4510th Combat Control Team Wing, Tactical Air Command.
