Entered Army on March 7, 1942. Received training in this country; later sent to England, then France. Was reported missing in action in France on September 19, 1944 and on December 9, 1944, word was received from War Department that he had been killed in action in France on September 19, 1944. Awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
