Corps of Engineers, building military airfields in the Caribbean when war started. Commanded an Engineer Regiment as part of the 7th Army in France and Germany. Almost immediately after V-E Day Regiment was re-deployed to Okinawa and in the fall of 1945 to Korea. Returned to the U.S. in summer of 1946.
