He served his country in the U.S. Navy from October 1938 through WWII. Received an honorable discharge in September 1945. During his career he received six ratings, the last being Radioman 1st Class. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and kept in touch with his fellow comrades and attended the Pearl Harbor Survivor Reunions.
